We cordially invite you to performances of our guest artists Ewa Justka and Jackie Triste at wakushoppu, taking place at Café V lese.
Ewa Justka (b. 1989) is a polish electronic artist based in London. She currently studies for a BA in Sound Arts and Design at the London College of Communication. Justka’s main field of research is based on an exploration of the materiality of objects, vibrant, ontological systems (human bodies, the bodies of plants, and electronic circuits: a varied range of micro and macro environments and the relations between them) and an investigation into modes of quasi-direct perception through noise performance actions, interactive installations, hardware hacking, circuit bending, accordion stretching, plant-molesting, breaking, deconstructing and collaborating. In her artistic work Ewa attempts to explore the concept of the physicality of objects through the creation of instant interactions between them.
Péter Szabó (b. 1978, Rumania) is an intermedia and conceptual artist who lives and works in Hungary. He studied at the University of Fine and Applied Arts in Cluj-Napoca, Romania and at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest. He works on large-scale projects in various media, including drawing, objects, installations and public actions, often commenting recent political and the social situation in Hungary. His present work focuses on the social and economic value of art, creating public art events, building communities and educational projects. In his residency project “My Last three years” Péter Szabó will continue exploring his interest in the social, political and economical questions of today’s Hungary, approaching these subjects through situations from his personal life.
Ewa Justka and Péter Szabó are resident artists within the framework of the Visegrad Artist Residency Program – Visual & Sound Arts.
