with guest performer Myriam Van Imschoot
Čt 19.11. - 19:30

The post-Australian sound poetry group Arf Arf will present a peformance of new work at Školská 28 Gallery.

Arf Arf explores the combined power of memory and voice to conjure geometric shapes that radiate inwardly, which shrink outwardly -- seeking to locate the midpoint between fluidity and tautness to produce harmonic tensions. Disparities and slippages between ‘then’ and ‘now’, language and verbal noise, blind spots and myopic listening will be plundered, extemporized and recast against, or through, various poetical protocols, illegible events and vociferously stretched cadences.

Since the mid 1980s Arf Arf has been engaged in writing and staging over a hundred individual performances in a variety of locations, the production of an experimental documentary film based on their performance work, two performance/exhibition tours to eight European countries, and the publication of a number of audio-visual collections, as well as the production of a series of radio art programs.

A DVD collection of film works by Arf Arf is currently distributed by Rumpsti Pumsti (Musik) in Berlin.

Their current tour of Europe will include the launching of two web-publications: Clanguage (Arf Arf) and Volume SP (Frank Lovece), both commissioned and presented by Oral Site/SARMA (Brussels), see: oralsite.be.

The stay of the group in Prague is supported by the Agosto Foundation.
