Willy Looyen led the visitor through three interconnected large rooms in the first floor of the convent. This triadic transition symbolised a path leading outside from the world of materiality. Willy applied symbollic materials such as soap, a chair covered with cotton wool, wax, or light. The last room was entirely immersed in diffused white light which entered through the stretched textile covering the windows. The surface of the white clean walls in the last empty room was altered with hundreds of small protuberances. The installation was meant to evoke “a feeling of a hypnotic fixation in timeless and lifeless life.”
