Liz Allbee is an improvisor and composer who works with trumpet, conch, electronics and voice. Her work spans many genres, primarily encompassing electro-acoustic improvised musics, noise, weird pop, and experimental rock. She is interested in extended song structure, investigating simple forms which combine to create a subtle complexity, pre-lingualism , the gestures, loops, and tics of communication and other issues surrounding language and the body.
Besides her solo work, current groups and collaborations include Bogan Ghost, Pivot, Vagino, The Zoo, Mensch Mensch Mensch, and Berlin’s Splitter Orchestra. She has toured extensively throughout Europe and North America. Since 2009 she happily lives in Berlin.
Michael Vorfeld, musician and visual artist, based in Berlin, plays percussion and self designed stringed instruments and realises electro-acoustic sound pieces. He works in the field of improvised, experimental music and sound art and is often involved in site-specific art projects. He realises installations and performances with light, works with photography and film. Besides his solo activities he is a member of various ensembles and collaborates with artists from different fields.
Count Portmon is a solo project of the Prague based musician, journalist and teacher Jan Faix, which is focused on experimental work with tape players and other (mainly) analogue electronics. For his musical work, Jan needs interaction and dialogue, so he has developed his solo project until finding a new "partner" in the possibilities of the coincidental behaviorof connecting equipment in non-standard ways.
As Count Portmon Jan has published recordings on the Russian net label Clinical Archives (title RCL-290) and also on the Czech label Hlukova sekce (Moranella). Besides this solo work Jan has also played in various collaborations with other musicians (for example, Margaret Unknown, Daniel Lercher, Petr Ferenc; or with his own bands Tembryo and Levi-Faix). He was also member of large international ensemble ÖNCZkekvist Orchestra. In the world of more conventional musical genres he plays on synthesizers the with bands Unifiction, Skrytý půvab byrokracie, and Bob Saint-Claire.
