Tomáš Moravec represents young generation of artists actively moving in Prague art scene. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in School of monumental arts in studio of Jiří Příhoda, but already while studying at the University of West Bohemia, Institute of Art and Design, which at the time was led by Michal Pěchouček and Dušan Zahoranský, he revealed his attempts to intervene in the public space. The author focuses on its spatial and situational quality. In the form of video performances or documentation he deals with situational occurrences and events dedicated to the observed object or environment that he carefully and cleverly transforms.
Recently is the aim of his realisations mainly gallery space itself and process of preparation of his conceptual site-specific interventions. Via temporary adjustment of spatial situation he communicates and manipulates with visitor's visual experience using various media practises.
If his dialogue with the public space and its urban infrastructure had slightly puzzling provocative meanings, then his follow-up interventions in the gallery space communicates with the object itself or its tracks or illusion. They reflect the problematic relationship or looking for ways to coexist. During the evening's video-screening Tomáš Moravec will present retrospectively his projects and videos.
