Jan Pfeiffer freely works with video, photography, animation and drawing. Pfeiffer graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in the studio of Jiří Příhoda in 2011. Within the frame of his exhibition portfolio, he explores the position of the human in structures of public and personal space. He analyses society, the defining role and predestination of human beings with schematic care and an author's involvement. The author performs his own personal research, and confronts mainly urban space, which unambiguously distorts human behavior, with his own and “objective” worldview. He takes a bird's-ey view of situations in the context of functioning of political systems, which he causes to be freely interpreted and conceptually broken down. For example in his project “Shortcuts”, which he interpreted through his own experience of city walking, he developed a complex view using geometrical and organic maps of public spaces and their architecture.
The author will present his realized and also upcoming projects in the form an audiovisual screening with commentary.
