During residency In Open Studios Jan Zamojski will be realizing project The Death of Beautiful Deer, inspired of Ota Pavel's stories collection. He w'd like to undertake a travel following writer's tracks (Berounka, Kladno, Bustehrad) and on the way to create short cinematic "stories" which would refer as to Pavel's novels as to his own experiences – creating cohesive whole. They will be also inspired by similarities in Pavel's and Zamojski' s family stories, alike sentiments and emotions and connection with Czech landscape. (Zamojski 's mother is Czech, his family lives in Moravia, in Prague and alike Ota Pavel he is an enthusiastic angler.) Rough "screenplay" had been already written but the final shape of particular film "etudes" will reveal itself on the place. The film would be accompanied by other actions, mostly in the open space, in the context of visited places: fishing, setting "traps" for "beautiful deer" and so on. During this travel Zamojski will create kind of a travel journal.

This residency is supported by the Visegrad International Fund, a program of the Visegrad Artist Residency Programme (VARP).
