Please join the Agosto Foundation and Školská 28 Gallery to celebrate the launch of
vs. Interpretation: An Anthology on Improvisation
vs. Interpretation is a compendium of essays edited by David Rothenberg and the first publication by the Agosto Foundation. Inspired by the vs. Interpretation festival in July 2014 and designed by Pixl-e Studios Publishing, the book includes drawings by Morgan O'Hara and a compilation on USB of improvised music by sound artists from the Czech Republic and abroad. A select number of books also feature a unique noisemaking sound module.
An inspiring read, not only for scholars and artists but for anyone interested in improvisation, vs. Interpretation is a tool for living in and interpreting the world around us.
Contributors to the publication include:
Ximena Alarcón, Charlie Bramley, Clio E. Bugel, Dawn of Midi, Michael Francis Duch and Bjørnar Habbestad, Jeffrey Goldberg, Peter Goodwin Heltzel, George Lewis, Lukas Ligeti, Lisa Cay Miller, Phill Niblock, Morgan O’Hara, Pauline Oliveros, Ivan Palacký, Dmitris Papageorgiou, Cynthia Plachá, Amandine Pras, Lucie Vítková, Rob Wallace
The celebration at Školská 28 will feature improvised performances by musicians featured in the book. We hope you will join us to meet the artists, learn more about the Agosto Foundation, and pick up a copy of this thought-provoking publication.
