The Scottish organization UZ Arts, together with partner organizations, organizes a yearly artists residency in Sri Lanka. Recently, together with 6 other artists, the sculptor, creator of new musical instruments, sound objects and installations, Martin Janíček, participated.
The evening's presentation includes Janíček's video (14 min.) of a visit to the shamans, a collage of field recordings of visits to temples, monasteries, everyday street life, buses, stations, the harbor, and the like. In addition, a video from a related project will be screened of a performance at the fishing village of Dodanduwa (15 min.).
