Josef Moucha
Josef Moucha (*1956, Hradec Králové) has been taking photographs since childhood. He grew up in Prague. Studied photography, in the framework of TV and film specialization at the Faculty of Journalism, Charles University, Prague; in 1980 graduated with M.A. degree.
Since then is he concerned with photography both practically and theoretically. His show debut was also in 1980. After reportage beginning develops a composition principle analogous with the twin-pictures. Accentuates fragmentary character of vision. As journalist he writes for Hospodářské noviny and Literární noviny, DIGIfoto, A2 kulturní týdeník and journals as Fotograf, Host or Ateliér. Among his publications are Alternativní kultura - Příběh české společnosti 1945-1989 (2001), the catalogue Fotogenie identity - Paměť české fotografie (2006). Historical essay Zážitek arény (2004), non fiction Mimochodem (2004), monography on photography of Alfons Mucha (2005), František Drtikol (2007), Josef Sudek (2008) Eva Fuková (2007), Milan Pitlach (2001), Jan Lukas (2003) and Jiří Hanke (2008).
