Sher Doruff
Sher Doruff has been working in the visual and performance-based collaborative arts in a variety of capacities since the 1970’s. She studied Fine Arts and was a practicing musician/ composer and scenographer in Chicago and New York. In the late 80’s-00’s her practice incorporated digital technologies in Live Art contexts. She received her PhD from University of the Arts London/Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in 2006. Currently she is a senior researcher at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art and Design, Amsterdam and mentors in the Master of Choreography and Master of Artistic Research programmes at the Amsterdam School of the Arts, Royal Academy of Fine Art in the Hague and the University of Amsterdam. Her doctoral research and dissertation mapped collaborative, creative processes in networked performance practice. This inquiry continues to constructively develop as an onto-epistomology of the diagrammatic – an interdisciplinary practice of relational dynamics. She sits on the editorial board of Inflexions Journal of Research Creation, Fibreculture Journal, and RTRSRCH. She has published numerous papers in academic and artistic contexts.
