Bernadette Zeilinger
Bernadette Zeilinger was born in Austria. She holds degrees in education and music (recorder) from Vienna University and in improvisation from Basel, where she studied with Alfred Zimmerlin and Fred Frith.
In 2009 she won an award from the Austrian International Society of Contemporary Music (IGNM) in recognition of a radio feature about contemporary music.
Bernadette has performed with Franz Hautzinger, Burkhard Stangl, Michael Zerang and others; she has given free improvisation concerts in several countries. Her groups LORBER, Einfach Drei, Sabs, Spektrophonie, Tiefklang, duoNuance & trioNuance are constantly evolving, and she also performs in various ad hoc groups when opportunities present themselves.
She has developed her own musical language but is very flexible in her approach and so also improvises at readings, art exhibitions, films, audio and talking books.
