Hanna Hartman, an important figure of contemporary music and sound art, will talk about the piece she will perform with Les Femmes Savantes ensemble at the festival on thursday night as well as other aspects of her compositional methods.  

Hanna Hartman is a Swedish sound artist living in Berlin who composes sound sculptures and works for radio and has performed widely across Europe. Her many awards and grants include Prix Europa (1998), the Karl-Sczuka-Preis (2005), the Phonurgia Nova Prize (2006), and a Villa Aurora grant (2010). During 2007 and 2008 she was Composer-in-Residence at Swedish Radio. Hartman creates compositions out of authentic sounds recorded around the world, seeking to reveal hidden correspondences and establish new worlds.
