Andrea Anti is stage designer, sculptor and paiter. She was born in Trenčín, Slovakia. In 1992 she started to study stage design at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre of the Drama Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. She cooperated on the foundation of the organisation mamapapa and participated in its site-specific projects (Mnichovo Hradiště Castle, 3WW3 – the Water Purification Plant in Bubeneč, LightLab at PQ 1999, worked for Hermit in the Plasy Monastery). She presented her graduation performance Příběhy ve větru (Stories in the Wind) in the barn of Petr Kavan’s manor in Český ráj. In her leisure time she paints, sculpts (independent exhibitions in Kavárna Citadela, Humprecht Castle, the U Oukropců pub in Těchonice) and occasionally acts (the Snail in the amateur performance of Pictures from the Insects’ Life and Dorota in the opera The Devil and Kate). In 1997 she met the Forman brothers while working on the project Cihelna (Brickworks) in Třešť. She was given the opportunity to prepare the river performance Nachové plachty (Crimson Sails) on the Tajemství (Secret) boat and subsequently to tour France with its dry-land version. In 2003 Andrea Sodomková worked on the staging of Philip Glass’s opera La belle et la bete for the National Theatre in Prague. In 2007 she collaborated with the bolstered Forman team on the buffopera A Walk Worthwhile, again at the National Theatre. In 2007, working with the nomadic cabaret performance Obludarium. She lives with her husband and four children in Proseč u Skutče.
