“The installation was conceived on the idea of not disturbing the architecture and the aesthetic of the monastery. In concerns contact with the past and contact with the surface of the water, the most fragile element of the entire building.

“I created a separate water cycle based on the balancing and circulation of water. The system´s movement is transmitted by the cable and weight below on the water´s mirror-like surface, creating gentle waves upon it.”

Margita Titlová-Ylovski (b. 1957) is visual and intermedia artist. She studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and exhibited since the 1980s. She was head of The Printing Departement at the Faculty of Visual Arts at VUT in Brno, currently teaches visual arts at the Visual Art and Design Faculty of Západočeská Univerzita in Plzeň. Margita Titlová-Ylovsky often combines various artistic approaches and disciplines, mainly painting and drawing, installation and sculpture. Her works are driven by archetypal ideas about the world and human existence, some works are inspired by physics of mathematics (e.g. chaos theory, quantum mechanics, etc.). The artist’s basic expressive medium is to capture immediate gesture and reactions of immediate emotional state.
