Exhibition of an art school collaboration based on a joint student workshop on the theme ’Why Are We Here’, which took place 12 - 24 November, 2007, at College of Art and Architecture, University of Liberec, Czech Republic
The title of the workshop and the exhibition is paraphrasing the age-old question we have been trying to answer in vain from the time immemorial. The hopelessness of the effort does not discourage new attempts. Considered as fundamental mystery, the question seems to permeate our existence and as such its interpretation reflects all the social changes and transformations. Vis ? vis the uncertainty it is on one hand a domain of demagogues and of populism, on the other hand it is also a source of creative energy and motivation both in science and art.
