A gathering at the Open Studios Residencies with the artists who are currently engaged in their three-month residency projects. An invitation to the studios of Wojciech Łazarczyk (PL), Tamás Oszvald (HU), and Morgain Craig (US).
Wojciech Łazarczyk (painting) – Graduate of the Academy of Fine Art, Poznan, 1990. A 2002 recipient of a grant from the Polish Ministry of Culture, and represented in many international exhibitions of contemporary painting. His residency from January to March 2008 is supported by the Visegrad Artist Residency Programme (VARP) of the Visegrad Fund.
Morgan Craig (painting) – Graduate of the Academy of Fine Art, Philadelphia, USA, 2003. He has exhibited extensively throughout the US and Canada. Partial funding for his residency, from February – April, 2008, is provided by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Tamás Oszvald (intermedia) – Graduate of the Academy of Fine Art, Budapest, 2005 and participant in Steina and Woody Vasulka’s workshop in Salzburg, 2003. His residency from February to April 2008 is supported by the Visegrad Artist Residency Programme (VARP) of the Visegrad Fund.
The aim of the Open Studios Artist Residency Program is to offer space for creative artists and aid in the development of contact between Czech artists and the international arts community. Starting in 1997, the program has hosted over 100 artists from around the world. It has also cooperated with the Unesco Aschberg Bursaries Fund – IFPC since 2005.
