Kryštof Pešek (b. Prague, 1986) is a final-year student of the Audiovisual Course at Prague´s Academy of Cinematic Art. He has specialized in work with moving pictures formed with the use of a "generative base". These moving images undergo continuous transformations, their sole aspiration to a degree of permanence consisting in the existence of an underlying principle which governs their inception. The principle in question is a code, a set of instructions fed by the artist to the computer. Subject-wise, the starting point is the polarity between the human maker and observer on the one hand, and the technological element, on the other. (GHMP exhibition catalogue, 2010)
