Linka D: International Dance Day
The new D line (Linka D), combining music and dance, will run from the Ponec theatre via Alfred ve dvoře to Studio Alta!
The D Line takes the form of a parade with three stops, including three performances as well as refreshments, connecting three of Prague’s main spaces for contemporary and living art. Anyone can ride the D line – the short, the tall, families, seniors, anyone and everyone! Don't forget to bring your bicycle, scooter, riding toy or any other human-powered vehicle, and join the promenade!
PROGRAM
• Departure from PONEC: 3:00 - 4:15 pm. Experience Yourself Differently / Ponec – The Dance Venue
Marking worldwide dance celebrations, participants will discover the unexpected movement and voice potential that lies hidden within. All generations – grandmothers and grandfathers, mothers and fathers with children, students – will be offered the chance to explore dance, movement and voice as forms of expression, which will bring relaxation, joy and self-recognition. This event is sure to be quite a ride, and all are welcome! Experienced artists and instructors like Lenka Bartůňková and Ridina Ahmed will initiate participants into the secrets of their art.
> Cyclist and pedestrain parade from PONEC to Alfred ve dvoře
• Stop at Alfred: 5:00 – 5:30 pm. Pasi and Raed: D-PLAN / Alfred ve dvoře
Prague-based Pasi Mäkelä and his Finnish version of Butoh meets the throaty growl of Lebanese double-bassist Raed Yassin in a brief improvised performance in the Alfred ve dvoře Theatre courtyard.
> Cyclist and pedestrian parade from Alfred ve dvoře to Studio ALTA
• Final stop ALTA: 6 pm - 6:30 pm Altíkoviny / Studio ALTA
Prepare yourself to dance, laugh and improvise! Under the direction of a group of young dancers, a wide array of movement concepts and activities will put children of all ages (that means adults, too!) into motion. Rest assured, you will not be left sitting still! The D line concludes at Studio Alta, where the children of the movement studio have dreamed up a collection of spectacular and bold, crazy and exciting movements for all to enjoy.
The new D line is part of the vs. Interpretation Festival 2016, and is a collaboration with Vision of dance, Automat and Rekola.cz.
