Minton, Phil
Phil Minton is an improvisatory vocalist from Torquay, England. He played trumpet and sang with the Mike Westbrook Band and then in European dance and rock bands in the 1960s and 70s. For most of the last 40 years, Minton has been working as an improvising singer for whose extensive vocal techniques numerous composers have written original music. Minto plays in a quartet with Veryan Weston, Roger Turner, and John Butcher, and in ongoing duos, trios and quartets with many other musicians. His group Feral Choir has performed in over 20 countries.
