Ada Muntean is an artist from Cluj-Napoca, Romania, who is currently doing research for her Ph.D. at the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca.
Mutean’s research concerns the body as image and instrument in contemporary art, and her recent artworks and critical texts being based on the research of this subject. Her is interested in both traditional techniques and mixed media. The purpose of her residency is to explore the contemporary art scene of Prague and to meet new artists.
Artist residencies for Romanian, Hungarian and Polish artists and theoreticians in Prague are part of a wider cooperation established under the East Art Mags project. It was initiated by Artalk.cz in the Czech Republic, and by other online art magazines from countries of eastern Europe (the Polish Szum, Hungarian Artportal, Romanian Revista ARTA and Serbian Balkanist).
This residency takes place with the cooperation of the Agosto Foundation.
