"Light Meditation was created to bring forth light in the face of darkness."
Michael Delia, 1994
"I was creating a sculptural version of drawings I had been creating up until that time.
Also, it was a reaction to the found-object wood plate covering the missing window, so it was a site-specific event as well."
Michael Delia, October 2017
"The light installation was created as a site-specific appropriation: one of the iron windows in the corridor was removed for restauration purposes and Michael fixed inside the gate a found wooden plate with holes. The sunlight emanating through the holes made light patterns on the floor of the ambit."
Miloš Vojtěchovský, 2017
Michael Delia (born 1963, USA) is an artist/musician whose work spans a wide range of disciplines and media. His work has encompassed paintings, sculpture, installations and sound art, as well as music performances. He is currently based in New Jersey and Prague, CZ. This period coincided with an interest in the downtown new music/improv scene happening at the Knitting Factory and in concert series' at the Alternative museum, Roulette, and Experimental Intermedia.
