"Het werk bestaat uit 12 ronde stalen platen met een diameter van 45 cm , die zijn afgezet op het grid van een magisch vierkant van 5 x 5 m van Bachet de Meziriac. De getallen van 1 tot en met 12 worden door deze platen bezet. Midden onder elke stalen schijf ligt een kleine luidspreker. De dunnen snoeren van de luidsprekers gaan naar een kistje, waarin 12 chips met hetzelfde liedje (uit Mondo Cane) en voor elke chip een apart versterkertje. De liedjes worden steeds herhaald. De speeltijd en de toonhoogte kan voor iedere chip en luidspreker afzonderlijk worden ingesteld. Daardoor ontstaat een voortdurend veranderend patroon van de 12 liedjes door elkaar heen."

["12 Steel discs, 45 cm in diagonal, are placed on the invisible grid of a magic square of 5 x 5 by Claude Gaspard Bachet de Méziriac on the numbers 1 up to and including 12. In the centre, under each disc, a small loudspeaker is placed and connected to a casket via a thin electric wire. The casket contains a sound chip and a small amplifier for each individual disc and every chip is programmed with the same song. The songs are being played back in a continuous loop but the playing time and pitch are set differently for each combination of song, chip and loudspeaker. The resulting effect can be heard as a permanent shifting pattern of sound.

Although it is obvious to let the installation be on all the time I surely would prefer to let it stop playing when there is no public and that it only starts playing again when a visitor enters the room."]
