Prague Improvisation Orchestra (PIO), Studio Alta and Agosto Foundation present three days of concerts, sound art, video, electronic music, and sound/movement improvisation in the unique setting of Prague’s Invalidovna.

The minifestival will include Prague Improvisation Orchestra and many guests, such as Martin Howse, Klamm & Pelikan, duO uO uO, Obelisk of Light ft. Kult Masek, Judita Levitnerová, Johana Matoušková, Jitka Čechová, Radim Klásek and Tina Afiyan Breiová.

Each evening will feature a different concert from PIO, including Petr Vrba's extended composition Rope on the 22nd, consisting of noise rock using repetition to slowly build a dense wall of sound. Next, PIO will premiere a new work for electronics, percussion and distant voices by George Cremaschi on the 23rd, and on the final night, the 24th, they will reprise a PIO program by the great US composer Anthony Braxton.

The Berlin-based sound artist Martin Howse will open every show with his ‘activation’ of the space via a performative sound installation, followed by a site-specific sound and movement improvisation featuring different dancers and members of PIO. (Howse is a participant in Agosto Foundation's residency program in July and August.) For the PIO Dynamo festival he has prepared the site-specific installation Activation: A set of actions and invocations for contemporary augury or divination, for night visions and for dream incubation. Inspired by vapours, fumes and smoke from chimneys and rotting snakes, burning forests, pure piercing notes and colours, The Final Session decodes earth and air signals through un-refined electronics and the manipulation of earth-bound electrons, dusts, smoke and fog, impulses and waves.

And not least, every day we will present a different group starting with the legendary Prague noise kings Klamm & Pelikán on the 22nd, the fabulous post-jazz from duO uO uO on the 23rd, and on the 24th, drone master Obelisk of Light will be joined by Kult Masek and video artist Judita Levitnerová.
