How Forests Think
Martyna Poznańska and Peter Cusack Audiovisual Report from Białowieża Forest Vysočina Regional Gallery, Jihlava Opening: 7 June 2018, 5 PM
This group exhibition focuses on the depiction of the forest in European art today. It is inspired by current scientific approaches to plants that accentuate “passionate immersion” in the surrounding non-human world, enlarging the sphere of representation, and cultivating the idea of the forest as an interconnected and thinking organism.

Nyepi: The Ritual of Silence in Bali
Martin Lauer
Silence is becoming every more scarce in the world of today, drenched as it is in ubiquitous noise. We are living in a world swarming with constant and frenetic movement, one of the many negative consequences of which is the continuous flow of superimposed sonic events of low quality.

Lea Vene - lecture
Industrial Heritage in the Sphere of Cultural Production
Case study: Croatia Lecture by Lea Vene 9 April 2018, 6 PM at Artmap Bookstore
In 2010, textile workers of Kamensko went on strike in the city centre of Zagreb. It was one of the rare cases where textile workers occupied the public space and were supported by many civil organizations, attracting a great deal of media and public attention. Despite the community pressure, the factory was closed down, leaving the textile workers on the street without ensuring them previously earned salaries.

Future of the Past
Macedonia’s Contemporary Political Art Lecture by Elena Veljanovska 6 March 2018, 7PM at Tranzitdisplay
As in a few other European countries in recent years, politics in Macedonia have been carried out on the visual and symbolic plane. Making their political visions visible in public was one of the highest priorities to the former, nationalistic government, which extensively rebuilt public space, covering it with historicized sculptures, monuments and new decorative buildings, and striving to reframe Macedonian history and creating a new memory.

Kavárny Naživo Brings Art to the Cafés of Europe
With the smell of coffee and, in former times, tobacco, wafting in the air, the hustle and bustle of voices and the clinking of cutlery and tableware, the café scene has always been somewhat of a hub for European cultural life.
