Julien Maire works with new media in his own, singular way often de-constructing and re-inventing analog apparatuses. He gives them a pataphysical slant, disassembling and inverting the functionality of various perception machines, like projectors or cameras. As part of his Agosto Residency, he will exhibit at the Inverse Mindset exhibition which will take place in Galerie AMU from 19 July - 2 September 2018.

This group exhibition focuses on the depiction of the forest in European art today. In 2010, textile workers of Kamensko went on strike in the city centre of Zagreb. It was one of the rare cases where textile workers occupied the public space and were supported by many civil organizations, attracting a great deal of media and public attention. Despite the community pressure, the factory was closed down, leaving the textile workers on the street without ensuring them previously earned salaries.

We cordially invite you to spend the first Friday in April in the central Bohemian town of Zákolany, where the local Roma community, along with the deputies of the municipality, the Romani studies seminar of the Department of Central European Studies at Charles University, together with other organizations have prepared the Romani Day event for the wider public.

After the war, Jitka Válová studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with Prof. Josef Kaplický, while Květa Válová attended a private school. Both transferred to the studio of Emil Filla after a year.
