New Book on Upsych 316a Universal Psychiatric Church Published

We are pleased to announce the publication of a new compendium of texts and images of Upsych 316a - The Universal Psychiatric Church, which has been prepared by the Agosto Foundation and the Press Department of The Peerless Cooperative of the Holy Nurture.

Titled Upsych 316a, it includes editorial notes and critical texts by Antonín Petruželka and Miloš Vojtěchovský, with a book design by Hedvika Marešová. The book also includes numerous photographs by the Chairman of the Peerless Cooperative of the Holy Nurture. It has been printed in a first edition of 450 by Calamarusn, Ltd.

The publication of Upsych 316a follows the publication of the book The Poetry of Květa Válová, by artists who will be familiar to the followers of the Agosto Foundation Mediateka.

These publications were created with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

I když na toto téma pokračují ekologicky, politicky a ekonomicky zabarvené debaty, mohly by v Česku v blízké budoucnosti vzniknout další dva národní parky. Jejich počet tím vzroste na šest.1 Celková rozloha chráněných území v roce 2016 byla 1 317 000 hektarů, což představuje asi 17 % území ČR. To se zdá poměrně hodně, ale podstatné je, v jaké stavu je těch zbývajících 83 %.

Indifference is the Worst

The Obnaženi society connects artists and cultural activists who have a personal relationship to Chomutov. Many members gained experience at various art schools and prestigious, international art projects, and since 2003 they have been bringing this experience to Chomutov. The society became an organization in 2007, and the interdisciplinary annual festival Obnaženi comprises most of their activity, showcasing some of the best contemporary performance, dance, alternative music, literature and fine art. The association’s vision is to bring to Chomutov and the wider region a platform for interdisciplinary encounters and cultural exchange on a regional, as well as national and international level. It also aims to connect Chomutov with other cultural scenes, and the society’s members keep friendly relations with diverse artists and similarly oriented collectives.
